GLOBAL RISER SIGNS 10-YEAR LEASE The Port of Iberia welcomes Global Riser US, LLC as its newest tenant. Headquartered in Cape Town, South Africa, Global Riser. will service and maintain drilling risers for all major drilling companies throughout the world. The 10- year lease is located on 117 acres previously occupied by Franks International. This property was recently acquired from Mosing Ventures, LLC and was funded in partnership with the Port of Iberia District and State of Louisiana through the Port Priority Program. Jason Fowkes, Global Riser Managing Director, said the company hopes to have the new facility fully operational in six to eight months. PORT PARTNERS WITH SLCC ON SCHOLARSHIPS Port commissioners recently agreed to implement a scholarship program at South Louisiana Community College (SLCC) in an effort to better prepare young people with skill sets to better serve the needs for companies at the Port of Iberia. "With the steady increase of activity at the Port of Iberia, it's important to invest in education to have a trained and skilled workforce available." David AGMAC UPDATE The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and Louisiana DOTD recently signed a joint agreement to complete the Port of Iberia Acadiana Gulf of Mexico Access Channel (AGMAC) project's validation study. Earlier this year $1,200,000 in federal funding was appropriated for this project, through Community Project Funding Appropriations by U.S. Congressman Clay Higgins (LA 3rd District) and the Port's Executive Director, Craig Romero. These project funds will be used to cover all costs associated with the completion of the Validation Report, which is required to begin construction of the Freshwater Bayou By-Pass Channel and to establish an Operations and Maintenance Program for the total AGMAC channel alignment. Currently the Port is working on Phase 1 of the AGMAC Channel Deepening Project in the Commercial Canal and plans to begin dredging Freshwater Bayou in the 4th quarter of 2023. After dredging is completed, the AGMAC Project will provide local industries in Iberia and Vermilion parishes with approximately 50 miles of navigable waterway with a 16- foot channel depth. P.O.
