The deepening of the Acadiana Gulf of Mexico Access Channel (AGMAC) at the Port of Iberia is progressing. The Port of Iberia has received over $58 Million in Capital Outlay funds this year for lowering of pipelines and dredging which is ongoing. The channel deepening will open the Port to larger vessels creating new opportunities for businesses, more jobs, and industries looking to locate here. "It has taken 20 years to get this project going," said Port Executive Director, Craig Romero. "We would not be this far had it not been for the support of our legislators."
